Ms. Jacobson is a Consultant with Partners Healthcare Consulting, Inc. (Partners).  Before joining Partners, Ms. Jacobson was Supervisor of Department Operations for a large surgical group in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities.  She has also served as administrator for two pediatric urology physicians operating in a combined private practice/university setting.

 Ms. Jacobson has over 20 years of healthcare experience in the medical clinic setting.  She has developed proficiency in a broad range of medical office areas, including administration, personnel supervision, motivation and training, office scheduling functions, coding and reimbursement, developing resources (clinic policies and procedures), computer operations, and payroll functions.

Her areas of specific consulting expertise include:

§       Assessing surgical and office service coding (CPT and ICD-9)

§       Designing and implementing charge tickets, fee schedules, and auditing procedures

§       Understanding insurance claim submissions and recovery and credit and collection functions

§       Coordinating office operations between multiple sites

§       Managing human resources (creating cohesive staff, developing organizational charts, job descriptions, payroll operations, and performance appraisal tools)

§       Office scheduling protocols for multiple providers and approaches to effectively supervise appointment scheduling staff

§       Managing accounting functions.

Ms. Jacobson has completed a Mini MBA in Health Care Management at the College of St. Thomas.  She is an active member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
